1. ADMISSION :                           

Singers of all nationalities are invited to participate in the programme. The minimum required standard for participants is proof of acceptance into a tertiary vocal degree.
 

2. AGE LIMITS :

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of their participation in a course.


 

3. APPLICATION PROCESS:
  • Applicants must complete either the online Course Application (with the optional Bursary Request) OR the Scholarship Application. No other form of application will be accepted. 

  • There are 3 ways to apply:

a) Submission of a Course Application only: You will be considered for a full-fee-paying place in the course.
b) Submission of a Course Application PLUS Bursary Request: You will be considered for a place in the course with financial assistance up to the amount requested on the bursary form.
c) Submission of the Scholarship Application: This is instead of the Course Application. You will be considered for a full scholarship to your chosen course, covering travel, accommodation and tuition costs. You will also automatically be considered for a bursary if you are not awarded a scholarship. 
 

4. APPLICATION DEADLINES :

Applications for courses and bursaries must be submitted no later than the deadline for the respective course. For application deadlines, the Central European Time (CET) applies. Successful applicants will be notified by email no later than the date stated on the course website.


 

5. COURSE APPLICATION FEE :

A fee of €15.00 (excluding bank and/or credit card charges and VAT of 2.9%+35p) has to be paid at the time of online Course Application. Available methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners, CUP, JCB, Maestro, Klarna and PayPal.


 

6. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FEE :

A fee of €75.00 (excluding bank and/or credit card charges and VAT) has to be paid at the time of online Scholarship Application. Available methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX, Diners, CUP, JCB, Maestro, Klarna and PayPal.

7. APPLICATION VIDEOS :

Videos need not be of professional quality but this may affect the selection process. There is no limit to the duration or number of submissions, so it is advised that videos are listed in the applicant’s order of preference. At least two videos will be viewed, but there is no guarantee that all materials will be evaluated.

8. COURSE REPERTOIRE :  

Repertoire suggestions are listed with the information for each course. The exact repertoire for each singer will be set in consultation with staff at the time of acceptance into the programme and cannot be altered.


 

9. ACCEPTANCE OF PARTICIPATION : 

Offers of a course placement must be accepted or declined within 5 days. Tuition and accommodation fees are payable in full on acceptance. Before accepting a place, please note all current requirements to enter Austria – a visa, quarantine regulations, PCR tests etc.  


 

10. WITHDRAWAL OF PARTICIPATION: 

Withdrawal from a course is to be submitted in writing. If a suitable replacement can be found prior to commencement of the course, tuition and accommodation fees will be refunded in full. 


 

11. RECORDING & LIVESTREAM:

Participants agree to the audio and video recording of all group sessions and performances. Participants will be notified prior to commencement of the course about livestreamed sessions. All recordings will remain the property of SLS and may be used for publicity purposes, staff & student review or for evaluation by guest lecturers. Private audio/video recordings of individual sessions are permitted in consultation with the course staff. 


 

12. VENUE:  

All classes will be held at the Musikvilla Untersberg in Großgmain, Austria. Please be aware that Siegfried, the resident cat, will be present in the building, but will not have access the workshop spaces. 


 

13. ACCOMMODATION:

Participant accommodation in a furnished apartment will be allocated on acceptance into the course. Requests pertaining to accommodation will be considered wherever possible.


 

14. DATA EXCHANGE & PROTECTION (SEE POLICY): 

Applicants agree that all data provided during the application process may be made available to SLS Staff. Successful applicants’ names, photo, voice type & nationality will be published online once they have accepted a place in the programme.


 

15. COVID: 

In recognition of the impact COVID has had on the performing arts industry, SLS requires all staff and students to provide proof of vaccination prior to arrival and a negative rapid antigen (lateral flow) test within 24 hours of the course commencing.

Regular testing may be required during the course for the safety of staff and students. Participants are advised to consider an appropriate travel insurance policy as travel and accommodation refunds cannot be guaranteed in cases of COVID. 


 

16. TERMS & CONDITIONS:

These Terms and Conditions have been acknowledged and approved by the candidate by completion of online application.
